Chen`s Chinese Take Out in Augusta

Food isn't good at all possibly some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Read the reviews which there are plenty of good one which tells me those people have never had good Chinese food. Ming Lee in Waterville is far the best and I'll take the drive next time.

Very disappointing. My first time ordering ribs were so lined with fat you could not chew it, egg rolls were not yummy, steak appeared to have been deep fried in grease, no crab in the crab Rangoon over all very greasey and not cooked properly. Rice was the only thing that was just okay. Also delivery took an hour and we are a minute away! Not getting my business again.

Food is always fresh and timely. Best Chinese food I've encountered.

Chens is a small family business with city quality Chinese food. I came from Connecticut and most places in Maine can't come close. Pak Chen does a great job and is reasonably priced.

Food was very good. Will be back to visit again because she forgot to put in the extra crab Rangoons...we had ordered. The ones in the meal were delicious.

I don't know how anyone thinks this food is good. If you do you haven't had real Chinese. The wings are just regular wings no flavor, the rice is greasy i could not eat any of it. My daughter paid alot of $ and it was a huge disappointment. I have yet to find any place decent up here, but maybe Portland spoiled me. This is the state capitol and its pretty sad.

One of the best around, pork fried rice is addictive.

Wow! Great place for Chinese food in this area. Ordered the General Tso's Chicken meal which came with an egg roll and Pork fried rice. The owner is fantastic and very friendly. Also, huge portions so you get great value for your dollar

Whenever I'm in the Augusta area for work I always pick up 60 or $70 worth of chens Chinese food and bring it home. My husband and I found this location on a whim one evening when we were both starving and driving through the area. It's American Chinese food. For those that are saying it's not fresh, no American Chinese food is really. My husband and I both have eten in Portland, gray, Augusta, Auburn, Waterville, etc. And for what you order it has very good flavor. The prices are fair, not exceptional but that is because it is a family-run business. Portions however are very large. The best Chinese food we have ever had would probably be wei-li in Auburn. People that are reading these reviews though don't want to drive that far. Chens is very good for the Augusta area!

The staff are nice and the prices are cheap, but that's the extent of the pros. All of our meat was dry and very chewy, the chicken wings were covered in tiny feathers still, and even the fortune cookies were stale. Next time I will order good Chinese food for a little more money..

Has been our family favorite go to Chinese restaurant since we found it over a year ago(2014). Lg portions,good prices!

Always great food and fast service, I enjoy there little grocery products they offer as well. They probably have the best general tso in central Maine and good portions as well!

Hands down, some of the best food we've had! This place will be a regular visit for us!

The quality of the food at this restaurant has degraded: the boneless spare ribs are mostly fat; the size of the egg rolls are half of what you would expect, or come to appreciate, but the same amount of egg roll wrap is used to produce something the size of a spring roll, with the end result being a smattering of filling and a whole lot of fried dough; the chicken and beef teriyaki is over-cooked and chewy; the chicken fingers are mostly batter (oil-soaked batter, at that); the beef and broccoli, as well as the egg fu young, lacks flavor.As a fore warning, avoid the fried rice. The fried rice will give you the runs - we became so sick.The prices have increased, but the quality has woefully decreased.For what you'll pay to feed a few people, there are certainly better options available.Avoid this place like the plague.

I ledt my Debit card here on accident. I'm an OTR truck driver so that's a very scary thing for me to do. Came back the next day and they had it safe for me. I always eat here when I come home to Augusta. Delicious fried rice, noodles, and chicken. A reliable place for Chinese food.

Good food, esp the General Tso's! They usually don't give a pick up time because it's always ready in 10-15 min.

Overall...it was okay. Large portions at a reasonable price.The young lady taking the order was very cordial.Do NOT order Cashew Chicken unless you enjoy peppers and peanuts.A person placing an order by phone was giving the Chinese girl a difficult time...just because someone is oriental does not give people the right to harass them and act like total rude jerks. She had to repeat herself several times because this person could not understand her....they might want to sober up before calling. A little decluttering and organizing would benefit the general appearance. Good location to stop after visiting the shopping area and get some Chinese to take home.

Absolutely amazing! Great food, big portions, right price. Cute family owned take out and small place to eat in. They have put a lot of work into the place. You'll want to leave a tip because it's delicious.

I go there for their chicken wings which I think are the best I ve had around. Their just the plain wings.but their cooked.to perfection. Love them.

I ordered the four happiness dish let's say I was far from happy. I found the beef but where was the shrimp I got 3 peices and the pork was pork spare ribs look and tasted like yesterdays left overs so all in all was unimpressed!

Best around over all huge portions and better than most

We ordered takeout here tonight and were very pleased with the food. I am a picky eater and am a good cook myself so I can taste food when it's not good. Everything we ordered was very good and we could tell it was freshly cooked and very tasty. We had General Tso's chicken and Orange chicken. Both were excellent. The crab Rangoons were nice and crispy and vere tasting fresh and not soggy. The pork fried rice was spectacular...best I have ever had so far...moist and with tender pieces of pork sprouts and onions. Our kids had chicken fingers which were nice, crisp and tasted good. I will only order Chinese from here from now on!!

I went there last week and the food was not all great small portions the girl kinda had an attitude like I was making her get off her cell phone and work I ordered what I thought was general gao chicken which is suppose to be spicey but it ended up being sweet tastimg!
